The Institut français in Georgia, established in 2002 as the Alexandre Dumas French Cultural Centre, is dedicated to promoting French language and culture in Georgia, and to fostering friendly relations between the francophones and francophiles.
The Institut Français provides French language courses for the beginner, intermediates and the advanced level students all year long and offers the highest-quality instruction of French language since 2002. Language classes at the Institut Français cover 9 levels, following the CEF Global Scale (Common European Framework for the Learning of Foreign Languages). About 1000 students attend these courses annually. The Institut Français is authorized by the ministry of French Ministry of Education to organize French language qualification exams to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language.
Teachers’ Workshop and Training Programs
As a resource centre for teachers of French language in Georgia, the Institut Francais regularly organizes teacher workshops to train teachers in the methodologies of teaching French as a foreign language in Georgian public and private schools. The primary objective in this regard is to provide accessible instruction that will increase teachers’ pedagogical skills and help them perform their job more effectively.
The Institut Français offers a wide variety of social and cultural activities. It organizes exhibitions of contemporary French artists, theatre plays, concerts and cinema sessions featuring some classic and contemporary French films. Studies in France
The Institut Français, along with the CampusFrance agency, is also dedicated to international academic and scientific mobility, through the promotion and development of French higher education and professional training outside France, as well as to support foreign students, scholars and researchers. It coordinates different grants and other international mobility programs, offering students and researchers a pathway to engage in French higher education system.
Our library has a collection of over 20,000 French language books, newspapers, magazines, movies, music and language learning materials accessible to all members. The annual admission fee: 10 GEL.

The Institut Français translates all kind of documents in both languages Georgian and French language. Translations follow the guidelines of the French Embassy in Georgia.
