Course Description

SCAD offers more programs of study and specializations than any other art and design university in the U.S. and is the preeminent source of knowledge in the 100-plus degree programs it offers, including fast-growing fields like user experience (UX) design [link:], immersive reality [link:], luxury and brand management [link:], business of beauty and fragrance [link:], animation, film and television, and more. The university is incredibly diverse, with more than 15,000 students representing more than 100 countries. At least 25% of the SCAD student population is international.

With three distinctive locations immersed in culture and history as well as global virtual learning options, you can choose to study at any location, in any quarter, during your education. Through the SCAD Language Studio, the university offers in-depth English as a Second Language assistance to help you master the English language and experience U.S. culture.

In Atlanta, students are tapped into the dynamic film and television scene in Georgia, one of the top markets for feature film production in the world. The SCAD location in Lacoste, France, inspires students as they live and study at a creative retreat in a hilltop village. Students travel throughout the region to further their creative passions, including regional excursions and collaborations with major companies across Europe. In Savannah, students live, learn, and play in a National Historic Landmark District, close to the scenic beaches of coastal Georgia. SCADnow enables you to take classes from the farthest corners of the globe, at your own pace or in real-time virtual courses.

The innovative SCAD curriculum engages professional-level technology and other advanced learning resources, and affords students opportunities for internships, professional certifications, and real-world assignments with corporate partners through SCADpro, the university’s renowned research lab and prototype generator.

SCADpro, the world’s leading university design and research consultancy, offers students real experience with clients such as Amazon, Coca-Cola, Disney, Google, L’Oréal, NASA, Target, YouTube, and more. SCADpro assignments have led to more than 200 job offers for SCAD students.

Students also access SCADamp, a professional presentation studio that turns students into compelling presenters and public speakers through effective communication skills coaching.

At Savannah Film Studios, SCAD is building the largest backlot of any university in the U.S., including a mixed reality (XR) stage. In every classroom and building, students have access to professional-grade resources, from Foley soundstages to professional-level software, 3D printers to augmented and virtual reality equipment.

Every element of life at SCAD — global locations, innovative resources, and real-world collaborations — is designed to launch your creative career. Learn more at
