Macquarie University offers a world-class study experience. Its ranking as one of the 10 most international universities in the world (THE 2019) and its parkland campus attracts over 11000 international students from more than 103 countries worldwide. With a range of study options, from

Bachelors to PhD, MQ has something for everyone

Our campus

Macquarie is 15km from Sydney Harbour and has a train station on campus that connects it directly to the CBD. The campus sits on 126 hectares of parkland in the middle of Australia’s largest high-tech business precinct (home to more than 300 companies, giving students access to great job opportunities). Over one billion dollars have been invested in University facilities in recent years. Our students enjoy world-class facilities – a new library, a private hospital, first class sports fields, a gym and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. After class, you can relax in the Uni bar or on the outdoor terraces.

Macquarie provides safe, supportive accommodation for all students, both on and off campus. You can live in a new fully/self-catered residence, in a single or a shared room and have access to a range of convenient facilities, all close to the campus.

Real-world learning

Employers worldwide appreciate Macquarie’s practical approach to learning, which gives students real-world skills for the workforce. Internships with both Australian and international companies are encouraged, and organised through either course-related internships or the Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) initiative, which encourages undergraduate students to undertake internships and cultural experiences locally and internationally. Students can also put their global skills into practice via Macquarie’s award-winning Global Leadership Programme (GLP) in which they can study, volunteer and participate in activities in Australia and overseas. It’s all part of the Macquarie experience! CEOs surveyed in The New York Times in 2012 ranked Macquarie in the world’s top 100 universities for graduate recruitment. Our alumni network of over 150,000 graduates in 140 countries provides invaluable professional connections.

A supportive, multicultural community

Macquarie provides a welcoming home for 40,000 students from over 130 countries. Offering support from arrival through to graduation, we will help you transition from the UK to university life in Australia and to achieve your best.
